The NMRT Annual Program committee will also provide a handout and the summary of professional networking tips and resources after the program to maximize the benefit of the program for attendees.<\/p>\n<p>We have great speakers who will share their networking experience and tips with new librarians.<br \/>\nPlease submit your questions during the program either through the online chat or Twitter hashtags\u00a0<strong>#ala12 <\/strong>and<strong> <strong>#networking<\/strong><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>After the program, there will be an opportunity for participants to complete a brief survey.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Time\/Date:\u00a0Thurs. She is an active leader in the American Library Association (ALA), serving on the ALA Executive Board and as a past President of the New Members Round Table. In 2011, Courtney was named a Library Journal \u201cMover &amp; Shaker\u201d, recognized as a Change Agent for her ability to successfully make connections among a diversity of duties in her library, on campus, and in the profession. Courtney frequently presents and publishes on issues related to academic librarianship, diversity, African American studies, women\u2019s studies, virtual reference, and professional development. She graduated from the College of Wooster in Ohio with a B.A. in English and minors in Black Studies and Women\u2019s Studies, and received her M.S. in Library Science from Simmons College. Follow her on twitter @librarycourtney<\/p>\n<p>JP Porcaro is currently head of acquisitions at New Jersey City University\u2019s Guarini Library and a 2010\u00a0ALA Emerging Leader.\u00a0 He played a major role in creating the Games and Gaming Round Table (GameRT), &#8220;a forum for librarians to discuss building, maintaining, and supporting library game collections.&#8221; In 2012, JP was named a Library Journal \u201cMover &amp; Shaker\u201d\u00a0as a Comunity Builder. Follow him on twitter @8bitlibrary<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/loidagarciafebo.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Loida Garcia-Febo<\/a>\u00a0speaks, writes and researches internationally about human rights, access to information, advocacy, services to diverse populations, and professional development. She has published about her international work with new professionals on Feliciter, Canadian Library Association magazine, Incite, Australian Library and Information Association magazine, and the Australian Library Journal. She received the ALA 2010 Elizabeth Futas Catalyst for Change Award for her work with international new librarians, and was named a Mover &amp; Shaker by Library Journal. Currently, she is ALA Councilor-at-Large and chairs the ALA Committee on Membership Meetings. Loida is a former President of REFORMA, was chair of the ALA Intellectual Freedom Round Table and is a former secretary of IFLA\u2019s Free Access to Information and Freedom of Expression Committee where she currently is an Expert Resource Person. Loida co-established and advises IFLA\u2019s New Professionals SIG. She is Coordinator, New Americans Program, Queens Library.
