They used to join my family on thanksgiving and Easter holidays. The professors wife was an academic librarian, and I very much admired her work as she described interaction in her field. She had been a subject area librarian with a second degree in biology, and this was impressive to me intellectually. Both she and the professor served as mentors to me in my studies and worklife, guiding me towards my first library job at a university as a circulation supervisor.
