\n Assistant Director of Research and Instructional Services<\/strong><\/h2>\n

What’s your job like?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As the Assistant Director of Research and Instructional Services, I am in charge of the Research Unit within our department. I manage two librarians within this unit and we focus our efforts on research methods, assessment strategies, copyright issues, and more. I am also the business, marketing, and management subject liaison for The New School Libraries & Archives. As the subject liaison, I focus on collection development, teaching, and outreach for a various departments throughout the university.<\/p>\n

What are some things you like about your job or working in libraries in general?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I love that everyday is different. The research questions that the students come up with are always interesting!<\/p>\n

What’s a project or committee you’re working on right now that you’re excited about?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I am currently the committee chair for the NMRT Annual Social and the NMRT Annual Conference Professional Development Attendance Award. I’m excited to read the applications for the award and help select two winners for this opportunity. I’m also excited to work with my committee members to plan the annual social event!<\/p>\n

What is one of your favorite things about NMRT?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I love the opportunities that NMRT provides its members. Whether it is getting to know one another at a social event or attending an online webinar, there are always fun and unique opportunities for all members.<\/p>\n

Do you have any advice for other new librarians?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Network! You hear it all the time, but it is true. The library world is relatively small and you never know when a conference acquaintance might become a future colleague.<\/p>\n
